The Debian Project

Debian @ LinuxTag 2002

– June 6th - 9th, 2002 –

The Debian project maintains a big drawback at LinuxTag exhibitions, one that we experienced first in the 1999 event in Kaiserslautern. Without special care, there is space for about 20 people at the Debian booth and 18 of them are probably Debian people who are lurking around. Often not more than two visitors are among them, since the others were scared away by the sheer amount of people in that booth.

This year we are trying to fix this problem by defining booth shifts. Only those people in a shift should be at the booth, others should stay somewhere else. There will be a large unused area behind the Debian booth, so it may be an interesting idea to hook a network up there.

Practically, Thimo Neubauer wil check if enough staff is available before a shift starts and convice anyone in a Debian-T-Shirt to do a spontaneous shift if there aren't enough. But basically, IMHO only 2-3 DDs should be in the booth at one time.
