1. Social Event

It has been sorted out finally where this year's social event will take place an what it will cost. The social event is usually a quite amazing mixture of suits and shirts. It will take place on Friday at the lido Wolfartsweiher which is about 15 minutes far from LinuxTag with bus.

For booth staff that is listed for your project the price per ticket is € 15.00, for regular visitors and non-project staff the price per ticket is € 25.00. The ticket includes food and regular fluids (non-alcoholic, beer, wine). There'll be a barbecue starting at about 20 o'clock and probably a DJ or a band to serve music or something of that kind.

We have organised shuttle busses which will take you from LinuxTag to the lido. There will be pool attendants until 23 o'clock, so if you need refreshing, feel free to swim a while. Since the European soccer championship takes part at the same time, it will probably be telecasted with a beamer.

All people who are registrated to the projects system can use the reduced fee. If you are interested in attending the social event, please mark the option field for "social event" in your personal settings (Edit person). When you arrive at LinuxTag, please drop by at the office where you can pay and fetch the tickets from my collegues or me.

2. Keysigning Party

Peter Palfrader will organise a keysigning party during LinuxTag again. If you want to participate, please read his instructions. The party will be conducted using Len Sassaman's efficient group key signing method. If you intend to participate please send your ascii armored public key to ksp-lt2k4@palfrader.org no later than by Saturday, June 19th, 2004. During LinuxTag the keysigning party will take place on Saturday, June 26th, 2004 at 14 o'clock.

3. Power and Internet Connectivity

Power will be provided by LinuxTag and KMK for the projects booths. Internet connectivity will be provided by Schlund + Partner and LinuxTag. You don't have to worry about these two. You need to note a proper number of machines which will most likely be present at your booth at the same time into the projects frontend so we can calculate power requirements roughly.

However, you'll need to take extension cords and power multiplier sockets with your. We can't provide them in an appropriate number for all projects. Joey will have a couple of network cables that were left over from another show which can be purchased at LinuxTag, though.

If you use a cable drum, please make sure not to connect any computers or monitors to it unless you've pulled off all the cable. Otherwise you will probably learn about the magic of electricity when things blow up.

4. Shopping

You will probably want to have at least some fluids at your booth so you don't get dehydrated, since it'll be quite warm, both in Summer and in the exhibition hall. Steffen Mutter from the KaLUG has prepared a location plan on how to get to a supermarket and a bakery in the Karlstraße near by. He also took pictures to help you get the right direction.

5. Booth Plans

This is the last request for information. I will have to make final booth assignments during the next weekend (first weekend of June). If you haven't added all relevant information about your booth plans to LTP please ensure they are available there on Friday.
