Fair objectives

This Linux fair provides Linux related users and developers with a possibility to inform about new trends and developments in the following topics:

  1. Host and network security under Linux
  2. Function and defensive of system attacks
  3. Linux as intranet/internet server
  4. Business applications
  5. Linux in heterogeneous environments, migration to Linux
  6. Open Source projects and philosophy

We have planned several discussions about the technical and economical aspects of the Linux and Open Source usage.

Program plan

We have planned two workshops and two general sessions on each day. Talks will be selected so that they fit for newbies and advanced users.

Paper submission guidelines

Talks are planned 25-30 minutes plus 15 minutes for a free discussion each. Longer talks and presentations can be arranged with the organiser. The talk proposal should include a short abstract (not longer than one DIN A4 page; PS, PDF, TXT format prefered). This abstract should outline major points of the talk so that it can be properly reviewed. The abstract, slides and additional materials can be published in the conference transcript or on the MDLUG webpage - they should be ready at least one week before. The conference language is german, english talks are also welcome.

Please include a list of facilities needed for the talk (computer, beamer, overhead projector, ...)

A presentation of Linux related products and services is possible in agreement with the organizers.

Important dates

March, 31 - submission deadline for talk proposals
April, 7 - notification of acceptance
May, 5 - submission deadline for material to be included in the conference transcript
