newmail2006-02-28: Version 0.4 releasedA new version of newmail has been released today which marks an important milestone and reflects a much more sophisticated package than old one. No version of newmail before was ever able to convert characters and display them correctly. This was the one feature the old program from the Elm source was lacking and which was really a pita for everybody who receive mail not only in US-ASCII. At the time the old version was developed nobody ever used non-ascii characters, so this wasn't an issue. When the locale is set properly (using LANG or LC_CTYPE) non-ascii characters encoded as described in RFC 2045 found in the subject or from header line will be automatically converted into the current character set before they are displayed.
